What is your opinion on medical doctors?!

What is your opinion on medical doctors?

what do you like most about them and what do you dislike most about them? i am a medical student and i want to know your honest opinion.

i know some doctors are known to be 'jerks' and some just don't spend enough time with their patients. i want to know if these doctors have completely ruined your view of all doctors.

I like it when they talk to the patient not about the patient

I like it when they realize that the patient has opinions and knowledge too

I like being treated like a patient not a disease

I like it when they suggest the "tried and true" methods for treating a problem instead of jumping to the newest ones right away. I do understand why they do it, but I personally don't like it. Example-- I have taken Digoxin, Inderal, and Lasix my whole life. I don't want to switch to a newer medicines. These work just fine for me. I know their side effects and short comings. Way too many young doctors have suggested the "new" drugs. No. Let someone else be a guinea pig for the new meds. I like these. They work for me.

I detest it when doctors immediately start making decisions for me. Discuss it with me first, I have input. I will say yes or no.

And I like doctors who are basically likable people. That factor of likability goes farther than any other in helping me trust a doctor.
