I have both vertical and horizontal ridges?!

Question:

I have both vertical and horizontal ridges?

i have horizontal and vertical ridges on my fingernails! the vertical ones are smaller and close together but the horizontal ridges are wide. they are mostly on my thumb nails but the vertical ridges appear on all my nails! i have psoriasis, so i don't know if that could be the cause (nail-psoriasis?) Any ideas?

Answers:

I have both as well. I have watched every time they change my meds. The rings as they grow out show the med change. The others seem to be where my nails curve. On one of my thumbs there are not as many in one area, so there is a greater stress there, and that is where it chips more often.

You can buff them out and not notice them so much. But if your nails are thin to start with then I would not advize that as they are more apt to split, crack, chip...

You have psoriasis, Well so do my older daughter and youngest son and myself. Watch your milk and milk product intake. See if you have a worse problem after alot of milk products... Next is the creams, so many and so worthless most of the time LOL. I found that natural oils work so much better and last longer than any cream. You can get them many places, They often have a sent added in and I like them. Rose and honeysickle... I mix them with one that has almost no sent and it is like a personal perfume. To each there own.

Hope that helps
