Random chest pain & short breath?!

Question: Random chest pain & short breath?
Hi all, just wondering if I should be concerned with this or if its just because I'm damn fat !

Im 28 yrs old and weigh in at a hefty 22stone my bmi is 38/39ish,

The problem is I occasionaly (including now) get random chest pains that are kinda high up in my chest but also seem to cause my arm to ache. Its not a gripping heart clutching pain more like a dull to medium ache followed by tightness and shortness of breath (all symptoms that I'm experiencing now while im writing this - which is why im writing it)

Should I have cause for concern or are these just random 'Fat Aches' lol

Someone get back and let me know while I pop off for an aspirin ! :)

Answers:

Chest pain that causes arm to ache followed by tightness and difficulty breathing all can be symptoms of a heart attack. Go ahead and take that aspirin. Aspirin has been proven to decrease the severity including fatalities in a heart attack. Next thing is to get off this computer and call an ambulance. DO NOT attempt to drive yourself or have someone drive you to the hospital. Ambulances can act as a "mini emergency room" helping get proper medical care faster. They can do an EKG and IV fluids and medication and oxygen. This can't be done in a car. If something goes wrong in the car there is no help but in the ambulance here is. SO due to your symptoms call an ambulance! NOW!

sounds common of a heart attack or unstable angina, you deffinatly need to go to the hospital/your doctor in the short term and lose weight and be more healthy in the long term. you shouldn't be self medicating asprin instead of seeking medical help

May not be a full blown heart attack but may be Angina instead. Angina is serious but treatable ONLY by a physician. Call your doctor ASAP. :)

Physiology courses

You need a hospital. Now. No joke.

Doctors visit is called for!

go to the doc. loose some weight

Pinched back muscles will send pains around the body on the nerves to be pains in the rib, chest or heart areas. The muscles can tighten up around your ribs so they can't expand to get a breath in as well. Freeing up your back muscles will get rid of this problem for you and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
