Have you tried taking a magnesium supplement? That helps if you are already taking calcium. Also, you can use a ginger compress to help alleviate the pain. It will increase the blood flow to the area and help it to heal faster. Ice isn't always the answer to pain, sometimes, when it's inflammatory, heat works better. Try it and see if it helps.

A ginger compress is made by taking a large ginger root and grating it. Place the gratings into some cheesecloth that has been doubled over and make a pouch with it by tying the top together with some string. Squeeze the ginger pouch into 8 cups of water, drop the pouch into the water and bring it to a boil. Turn down the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Squeeze the bag again and remove it from the water. This will be very hot. Use rubber gloves and drop a hand towel into the water. Squeeze out the excess liquid and then place it on the area that is painful. You may repeat this as often as necessary, until you achieve some relief. Save the water, you can reuse it several times before you need to replace it and make new.

Good luck and I hope this helps. It's really a bummer to be in pain!
