Will track marks from heroin use heal?!

Question: Will track marks from heroin use heal?
I have open wounds (track marks) on my arms from heroin use. I have never had them before but started getting them. They first looked like red spots and were open wounds but the doctor said they should clear up. That was a month ago and I have new sores and the marks have turned to black lines and scarring. Will my arm be like this forever?

Answers:

Any scar on the body fades with time. If you're finding them becoming more pronounced it's because you're using the track; only you have the power to allow the scar to fade or yes, your arm- and anywhere else you choose to use will look like that forever.
In nearly 25 years of nursing I have seen many beautiful people marked with tracks; some active users, others whom have been clean for years. Of them, dozens have had to show me exactly where to look for available veins in order to draw blood or start IV lines because they've destroyed all of the easily accessible sites. I don't mind the work- in fact, I love the challenge! The patients however mind very much having a line in their neck, fingers or toes... and the multiple sticks it may take to get those lines.

Live your life to the fullest~ I hope you'll soon learn that natural highs are by far the best.
