Chest pains Anxiety?!

Question:

Chest pains Anxiety?

Hi im a 17 year old male, with good overall health. i just had a physical about a month a go and everything is good. I am currently in grade 12. In january i was having some chest pains/palpulations and i went to the emergency room and they did the EKG, blood tests and an x ray and everything turned out fine. They said it was just stress/anxiety causing my chest pains. they told me to take some advil and it should go away. I did and it went away, however now im having chest pains again. they have lasted for about 3 days ( they are pretty mild pain) on the left side but sometimes it moves to the middle. i think it is just the anxiety because i have exams coming up in a week and im all worried about the results.

Do you think this is just anxiety causing this ( i also got headaches a lot in january) overall i am a really anxious person even the doctor said it and i worry about everything.

Hi:

To me it sounds like anxiety. If follows your previous history of chest pain. Have you taken the Advil to see if that works? I would try the Advil, if that works, it is absolutely anxiety.

This is a hard time of the years for you kids will all finals, exams, end of year crammed schedules...schedule in some down time for yourself, take care of your self and relax over the exams. You already know the material, you have worked it all year, you'll do fine.

If your anxiety gets worse though, tell mom or dad so they can make an appointment at the doc's for you, this is very important.

You take care of yourself, and exams are going to go fine. Relax.
