Ibuprofen doesn't act to thin blood. It is a non steriodal anti inflammatory, intended to be used as a pain killer and to stop swelling. Aspirin has the same effects, hjowever has been found to stop blood clotting thereby acting as a blood thinner.
People at risk of heart attacks should take 1/2 a tablet every day. Aspirin can cause ulcers in the stomach though.
