Answers:

The migraine is more painful and will cause other problems, like with the eyes and ears. They are both caused by tight neck muscles, which is the one thing they have in common. The neck muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around your head. when the neck muscles get tight they pull on the head muscles to put them into pain and that's where the headaches/migraines come from. When the eyes are involved it's because the nerves for the eyes go to the back of your head, passing next to the neck muscles as they do. When the neck muscles get tight they can press into the nerves for your eyes to give you pains on the back of your eyes where the nerves are attached. More pressure causes the pupils to dilate to make you sensitive to light or for your eyes to go blurry. the neck muscles also pass just inside your ears so when the muscles are tight they can press into the nerves for your ears to cause pains in them. A migraine can be so tight that it brings the back muscles into the problem as well for there are shared muscles in the neck and back that allow that to happen. To get rid of the problem fully, when a migraine, you have to also free up your back muscles along with the neck ones and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about one minute, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds. repeat this if any pain remains. For both- for best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Migraines are a specific type of headache thought to caused by vascular spasms of the arteries in the brain. They present classically as unilateral (one sided), pounding and often associated with other global symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, painful experience to light and visions of light phenomena called scotomata. Treatment is different and sometimes focused on prevention as well as treatment of active episodes. They can be precipitated by dietary items (aged cheeses, red wine, some nuts) as well as stress and lack of sleep.
