If my dog has been shot by a beebee gun, will it heal itself?

I know this seems like a stupid question, but I'm not even sure if that is what has happened. She came in the house last night and has a small wound, about the size of an eraser head, that was bleeding lightly. She may have gotten in a fight with a critter, but I'm worried someone may have shot at her. I'm waiting for a call from the vet but would love any feedback I can get.

Sorry, this is my first post and when I started the process to post a questions I went under "dog" and then "injuries". Sorry its under the human portion.

My friend's friend's Cat was hurting and they took her to the vet to find out that she had a beebee bullet inside. Had to have an operation.
