Do doctors keep track of the dates they wrote handwritten prescriptions?!

Question:

Do doctors keep track of the dates they wrote handwritten prescriptions?

PHYSICIANS ONLY! My mothers doctor is very busy. He handwrites his prescriptions. Does he know the date when he wrote out a specific script? Do they just write down the medicine and the milligrams or do they write down the all information such as dosage/milligrams/date prescribed/quantity. Sometimes I wonder if he writes down anything except the medicine type due to the fact he is so overworked.

Answers:

Yes we do.
