I was sick in my sleep, why aren't I dead?!

Question: I was sick in my sleep, why aren't I dead?
I got very drunk last night, drank about 60cl vodka. I passed out on my sofa, when I woke up it was evident Id been sick while passed out. I thought you choked and died if this happened, so why am I still alive?

Answers:

We're you on your stomach, or on your side? There's a good chance you were on either of those positions while you were sleeping, but rolled over during your black-out.
Did you have any friends over to make sure you weren't on your back?
Not all people who pass out drunk die from choking on their vomit, but you're lucky. Learn from this, eh?

Why on earth do you want to kill yourself, most especially in a horrible manner, well, kill yourself anyway? How much have you experienced in life? You probably think that's funny and it's not. And I sometimes get mad at God because he killed the entire human race once...

EDIT: I just thought you were a teen as so many here. But you can die from overdrinking - in more than painful manners. And, please, don't exaggerate. :)

Yes, if you were on your back chances are you could died because your vomit could end up in your airway. You are a lucky by stupid girl. I lost my 23 year old sun that way. Try to make life positive decisions, I'm sure you have parents and it would ruin the rest of their lives too. After 9 years without my son, I still have melt down moments and I sometimes feel I am just waiting to see him again. Good luck.

you will only choke and die if you were on your back. If you were on your side, it would all happen as if you were over a bin. It comes out. When your on your back, gravity will pull the vomit back down into your mouth/throat and will block your airway thus rendering you unable to breath.

you must have threw it all up so it didn't get stuck in your mouth, or you rolled over to your side when you got sick

coz u dont die easily
