Answers:
if the skin is blistered then you need to seek medical attention within 24 hours b/c this is classified as a second degree burn and you'll need silvadene cream to treat it (this is a zinc-oxide based cream that allows your burn to breathe while treating it). only a dr can prescribe it for you.
otherwise try these steps
-use aloe vera gel. place it in the fridge-the coolness with help soothe the stinging when applying it.
-take cool showers. warm water can irritate the burn and make it worse
-take ibuprofen for pain. 200-400mg every 6 hours as needed but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.
-do NOT apply lotions, creams, oils,or food products (this includes butter, vinegar, noxema skin cream, yogurt, etc). these products actually form a barrier over your skin, causing heat to be trapped inside the burn and can make it worse. the food products leave you at risk for infection.
it might take a day or two for the burn to ease up a bit so hang in there.
