Question:

I just had cubital tunnel surgery 3 weeks ago, I still have numbness and the pain is unreal. Is this normal ?

I have cubital tunnel in both arms, my left was the worest. after this surgery on my left arm, and its not better I,m scared to have it on my right. I also have carbal tunnel. I'm taking 4 advil at a time, but it don't help, I can't sleep. Is there any thing I can do for the pain? Also the muscal in my hand is gone and it's still numb, worse than before, does this mean I will never get it back? will I ever be able to work again?

Answers:

If your having this much pain and swelling, after 3 weeks, you need to go back to the Surgeon,ASAP.. Something is not right.Meanwhile, keeping your wrist's elevated with some ice packs will help with the pain and swelling, are you wearing your splints ?If not get them on and don't strain that area by typing etc. Watch your salt intake, that will increase any problems with swelling.Take care.
