Severe pain during menstratuin-like labor pains.?
Sorry to all men who do not want to hear this but I am hoping to get some answers. During my menstration I have such severe pain on my right abdominal area. The pain comes and goes just like contractions during labor. The pain is also just as intense as labor pains-if not worse. This has been going on for years and my GYN just said some woman have that bad of cramps. I don't believe this because yesterday the pain was so bad it dropped me to my knee's, I started shaking, almost fainted then felt like I was going to throw up. If anyone has any idea's as to what this could be then answers/info is greatly appreciated. I went to the Dr yesterday which he gave me a shot for the pain and schedule me and ultrasound. Do you think this is the right track. I just don't know why it has taken my Dr 4yrs to decide to do this. Thanks in advance for the help. Oh and there is no way I am pregnant. I haven't been with a man for 7yrs.

The ultrasound seems like a good idea as it will rule out ovarian cysts (normally harmless, but very painful).

It has all kinds of info on Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (which is like severe PMS that affects 5% of women). It sounds like this might apply to you.
