Blood Clot in Thigh or Compressed Nerve?!

Question:

Blood Clot in Thigh or Compressed Nerve?

I have been having a burning sensation in my thigh, its not even necessary burning but more a sort of stinging pain that seems to shoot down to the arch of my foot. It is in my left thigh, in the middle on the inside of the thigh, for the past couple days the back of my thigh hurt like a strained muscle.

The area is not hot, red or swollen. I don't not smoke, do not take birth control and am 26. I do have a desk job but I am up running around constantly at least four times an hour - wear heels most of the time. I had an ultra sound down on my leg in February and recently my doctor told me that I strained my left calf muscle. I have been moving and packing for the last two weeks and the anmoyance of the pain in the thigh and arch of foot has become more annoying. Any suggestions?

Answers:

Probably a pinched nerve originating from the spine. If you've been to the doctor and have had a blood clot ruled out, ask to see a physical therapist.

See a PT with MDT experience and the assessment will give you a better idea if this is the origin of your pain. You can ask your local therapy office or go to http://www.mckenziemdt.org
