neck pain.. help me please?!

Question: Neck pain.. help me please?
just last night i've been having really bad neck pains on the left side, and its been causing me to have really bad headaches to the point i feel like i'm going to throw up. i took some tylenol last night and eventually i was able to get to sleep by finally getting a bit comfortable. today when i woke up i felt great and felt like i slept the best i ever had, but after a while (maybe a couple of hours) my neck pain came back. this isn't accompanied by a severe headache, but there is a tiny bit of pain in the head. my neck on both sides hurt now and i dont know what to do. i've been sleeping on an air mattress, but its not that comfortable and every time i woke up i've been half off the bed, the top half of me off. last night i slept with only my legs on the air mattress and i felt great, but i wonder if this has anything to do with my neck pain/ headaches. help please?

Answers:

Your headaches are caused by tight neck muscles. The muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around the head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull on the head muscles until they are in pain and that's your headache. I don't know why but nausea does happen with the tight neck muscles. As your muscles tightened up during the day the pain started setting in again. To get rid of the pain and to keep it from coming back you have to free up your neck muscles and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about one minute, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
