Emotional/physical exhaustion? can someone tell me?

i had a particularly stressful semester last semester. i slept about 3-4 hours a night and just found myself exhausted and overwhelmed with work, school and everything else. three months in, my brain stopped being able to function and learn material.

now, even though school is over, i do feel exhausted still a lot, and even though i am now sleeping. i can't even work eight hours without feeling like the life is sucked out of me. i have to take things really slow and relax a lot, or i don't feel well.

also, i got these really big bags under my eyes... will they go away with rest????

can someone tell me what is going on , how long before i recover and anything else about this condition.... personal stories, anything? thanks.


Answers:

First off, it couldn't hurt to go to a doctor.
Keep getting plenty of sleep every night. Although you are tired, don't forget to get at least a little bit of exercise in the morning or after work (a half-hour walk will be sufficient). Also, the food you eat will make a difference. Try to avoid caffeine and convenience foods and eat a balanced diet. I know this sounds like a lot, but try it for just a month, and you will likely feel better.
