Amitryptiline / Gabapentin: Has anyone out there tried amitriptylene or gabapentin for pain? Was it effective?
My doctor is recommending Amitriptyline and Gabapentin as a treatment for pain...I'm a bit skeptical of the idea. Anybody out there used these medications for pain? How well did it work? What was your experience? Thanks for your answers!

These medications are used for nerve pain. I have taken them both, but not ever together. Depending on the type of pain you are having they can be very effecting as to curing the problem, but for immediate pain relief, it's not gonna happen like that. I have always taken 1 of them accompanied with a pain reliever.
