Can I wear..?!

Question:

Can I wear..?

So in a previous question, i asked if my toe was broken..and I really think it is.
It's still swollen and it's still black and blue. It doesn't hurt quite as badly, but I am really scared to walk on it.
Back to the real question, if my toe is in fact broken, would it be okay if I wore tennis shoes on Friday? [I broke my toe on Tuesday]
I really need to wear tennis shoes for this certain event, so please tell me if I can or cannot.
Thanks so much!

Okay, so I broke my toe right before I had hockey try-outs. It wasn't pretty. I went to the Doc and everything. 'They' wanted me to tape it to the toe next to it. Sadly, I broke the pinky on the inside and it was too painful to tape it to the other.

Try the shoe on. Most doctors say wearing sneakers is best for a broken toe. I was the exception there too. I found I could only wear flip-flops.

What toe did you break? Hopefully it's a middle one (I mean, I wish you didn't, but you know), they're so much easier to work with. I would buddy tape it, use a lot of gauze and medical tape. Put socks on nicely so as to not move the tape. Than try the shoe on. If it's painful just when you put it on, give it a chance. You know how hard it is on toes to get into a shoe. Try to walk with the shoe. I can deal with pain (I skated with it normally, no tape, no gauze, and I'm a goalie so a lot of pressure goes on my toes). So, it depends on you, if it is too painful don't do it! Don't injure your toe more than it already is.

If it doesn't work, I would consider going shopping. Try to find a pair of covered toe shoes. Also, maybe try a wide size. You may never wear them again so they shouldn't be expensive.

But, if it's not too painful, wear those tennis shoes! They offer your toe the most protection!

Good luck!
