I have a weird looking splinter/sliver in my finger?

I was at the beach all day and when i dug in the sand at the bottom of the lake i came up out of the water and noticed two white splinters on my finger. They are on my ring finger and they look like sprinkles on a cake. What could these be and how do I get them out? Do I take them out like I would take out a splinter?

Using tweezers, pull these foreign objects out then pour hydrogen peroxide on your finger to clean the area well. I have no idea what the objects are. Watch your finger for swelling and/or redness. If you experience either of these symptoms, call the doctor. You may have to get a Tetanus shot also, if you're due for one.
