I got a really bad floor burn and I'm afraid to shower with it?!

Question: I got a really bad floor burn and I'm afraid to shower with it?
I need a shower, but I'm afraid the hot water will really sting. Plus I don't want it to get infected or anything. Should I shower?

Answers:

Where is the floor burn? Did you slip and fall?
Depending on how bad the burn is (bad = blisters, swelling) you can probably shower safely- just use cold to lukewarm water to not aggravate the burn, try not to expose it to the water too much.

If its a small burn on your knees or calves, you can cut up a plastic bag and tape it around your leg and shower.

If it is a giant burn, and really painful- sponge baths are the way to go.
You will stay clean until the burn heals somewhat, then you can take lukewarm showers.

Man, I know what you mean but it will only sting for a second. Just make sure when you get out that you put peroxide on it to get any germs off!!!

Yes, you should shower and then put some antibiotic cream on it........

take a bath instead and keep it out of the water.
