Hip Pain in 46 year old?!

Question:

Hip Pain in 46 year old?

Okay my aunt is having some pain and I am trying to help her figure out what it may be - she is uninsured so it is truly hard to see a doctor right now.
A few months ago she slipped coming out of a large walk-in freezer- she did not fall but heard kinda of a crack sound and was fine after that. SInce then she has had a lot of hip pains- both sides. She says that if she has to be on her feet more than 30 minutes she would have to use crutches the pain is that bad. She also has lost range of motion- if she wanted to lift her leg -like a sizor kick she says it is extremely painful.
Please if you have experienced this or know of what it may be please help me give her some insight. I appreciate all your help- and remember she is only 46 - so it is not old age- thanks so much!

Answers:

There are several possibilities from bursitis, tendonitis, low back problems radiating pain into the hips. My best guess based on what information you provided is that when she feel, she ended up twisting her pelvis, causing the pelvis to go out of alignment. If this is the problem then she needs to see a physical therapist who can re-align her pelvis; otherwise she is going to continue to have pain.
