Question:
Is it ever to late for stitches on a cut? I fell off bike injured palms, It has been ten days cut still open.?
One palm was just skin damage, but the other had a deep puncture in a half circle shape about 1/2 inch deep- down to fatty tissue about 3/4 inch long. It is on the base of my palm where all my folds converge, the cut is currently about a 1/4 inch gap between the two pieces of skin. I have treated it with neosporin and gauze, but I am thinking that it will heal with a gap/scar if I do not bring the two skins together soon. Help please. Thanks. p.s it has been 10 days all surrounding scrapes have healed except the puncture wound.

It's late, but still not late to go to a doctor. They may debride the scar tissue and may do a skin graft. Has it not affected the mobility of ur fingers?
Yes, it's unlikely that the wound will heal by itself.
