Acl sprain- how do I repair it at home? No health Insurance!?

I did manage to get a brace though. I need to get my knee back in shape. It has been sprained since March 1st. Any help would be appreicated.

How do you know it is just a sprain and that you injured the ACL? The best you can do is rest the knee for 4-6 wks to allow it to heal. The brace is probably rather useless in stabilizing the knee unless there are metal bars on the sides. Make sure you are keeping your quad muscle from shutting down by tightening the muscle with your leg straight out in front of you and pushing the back of your knee down. Hold for 10 seconds and do it 10 times. Do this daily for the next 2 wks. Also make sure the knee doesnt stiffen up by trying to bend it fully several times a day.
