Could this be a hairline fx or just a bruise??
I fell on going down four concrete steps yesterday. I don't remember how I landed but my main problem is my shin. It feels like a major bruise when i touch it. I cannot put any pressure on it. The area where it hurts is about 7" by 5" inches. It doesn't look like a normal bruise where it would be dark colored. In fact, there is hardly no color when looked at. I can see a discoloration if I stare at it. I would hate to get an X-ray if it is just a bruise. I would feel embarrassed. But if anyone out there thinks this could be more, then please tell me about your thoughts on this.

Don't hesitate get a proper examination.
It may well be a hairline fracture.
I kicked a door (in rage) many years ago and neglected to have it checked. It pained me for years and occasionally still aches.
A recent overall scan of my skeleton showed that this and a couple of other bones in my body had been broken and left unattended because I didn't bother at the time.
Now I can look forward to a few extra arthritic pains in my old age.
