Exercise is causing migraine headaches; why?!

Question:

Exercise is causing migraine headaches; why?

My blood pressure is normally extremely high, but it's being controlled by medication. I've started exercising, but after a moderate workout, I develop a migraine. Am I bringing my heart rate up too high? 134? After I get used to exercising, will I stop getting these migraines? Anyone had this problem? or take a guess at what the problem is?

Answers:

I agree with Kimmy, make sure that you have increased your intake of water. It sounds like you are trying to lose weight and get into shape. Drinking more water should not only help with the migraines, but it will help you take off pounds as well. To know how much water you are supposed to drink every day do this: Divide you weight by the number 8. The resulting number is how many 8 oz. glasses of water you should drink every day. For instance, if a person weighs 160 lbs., they should drink 20 eight oz. glasses of water (160 divided by 8 = 20). This may sound like a lot, but if you consider that a "regular" size water bottle holds at least 16 oz., that may not seem so bad. In that case it would be 10 bottles of water throughout the day. Good Luck!
