When To Go To The Hospital?!

Question: When To Go To The Hospital?
I have gotten 4 wisdom teeth removed, because of this I have been bleeding from the mouth allot. I must have swallowed allot of it while taking a nap today. I have been throwing up the blood I swallowed and because I have had the teeth removed I can't eat any solids. I have had two 6 ounce classes of V8 juice since this morning (it is 12:30pm now) and that's it and I and I have thrown all that up. When do you think I should go to the hospital to get more fluids, Do I need it or is this minor? How long do I wait?
I feel real bad.

Answers:

Having your wisdom teeth removed hurts, but it's not a reason to run to the hospital, unless you are experiencing dry socket (and believe me, you would know if you were). The reason you are vomiting is because you do not have enough in your system and the blood is actually not really blood, it's just stomach lining combined with some blood residue. This is not that big of a deal. You need to drink Ensure or a similar product (generic works just fine) that gives you full meal replacement nutrition. Also you can eat jello, pudding, soup (chicken with stars in the microwave cups works wonderful), and you can also eat Spaghetti'O's. If you don't feel better after you get something in your stomach, if you are vomiting more than 4 times an hour, or if you aren't keeping anything down, then you can go to the hospital. For now, what you describe is normal.

I have had wisdom teeth removed and other extractions as well.
