Sinus headache?!

Question:

Sinus headache?

i've had a terrible sinus headahce since sunday. it hurts right behind my eye, ear, and jaw, all on the right side of my head. it almost feels like a terrible toothache but it's too deep to have much to do with my teeth, but i've still been using orajel and that seems to offer temporary relief. is it normal to have a headache last so long? and is it normal when it hurts in your jaw?

it is the first time i've had a sinus headache. let alone, one this harsh. it's been receding since sunday, it's only short bursts of pain that shoot through my jar up to my eye. i really think it's a migraine, actually.

Answers:

In 90% of cases, what people think are sinus headaches are actually Migraine attacks. Migraines can include pain in the face, sinus area, and teeth because the trigeminal nerve becomes inflamed during a Migraine, and it's branches run across the forehead, along the sinus cavities, and along the jaw. Unless there's infection present, a true sinus headache is rare. At this point, I'd suggest you call your doctor. Good luck!
