How to recover after a sleepless night?

Yesterday was my first day smokefree. I got one of those patches. Too strong. Couldn't sleep.Up all night. Now time to go to work but agitated and exhausted. I go to bed? Need to call office to say day off. But to tired. Steel can't sleep. What do you advise?


Answers:

First thing is to have a large glass of fresh water. Follow that with fruits. Right now berries, melon, pineapple etc ... Then have coffee but make a point of having toast with it!

Take fruits with you for snack time and drink plenty water during the day. it will help better than anything else!

Tonight make a point of trying to go for a walk, then a soak in the bath tub. It would help if you had anything such as relaxation music while you do so.

If you're in for another sleepless night ... Don't toss and turn in bed! Instead get up, have warm milk with toast and then tell yourself to relax! You could also pop Bach's herbal remedy as it may help. Keep your bedroom window slightly open (Fresh air) And tell yourself that, should you not sleep! At least you're lying down, resting. The more you start to think this way ... The easier it will be for you to sleep.

How do i know? professionally! I'm RMN but also because after over 20 years on the night shift ... I'm one of the world's worst insomniacs! But i'm getting there now! So try!
