Severe deep pain in left leg?!

Question: Severe deep pain in left leg?
For the last 4 - 5 months I have had a severe pain in my left leg. It feels very deep and does not get worse when I move around, lie down, go out into the cold etc. It is permanently there, sometimes getting worse. I found myself in tears with it a few times. There is no visable mark on my leg and I'm not particulary athletic. This pain is excruciating. I went to my GP and she looked a bit worried and sent me for an x ray. I'm not getting the results for another 2 weeks. But I'm very worried, does anyone know what this could be? Also what are the best ways to deal with the pain. Strong painkillers are having little or no effect.

Answers:

Ring your GP again, ask him if he can hurry the results. Try doing things to help you take your mind of it... for example a games console. Also try surrounding your leg with Ice packs or frozen peas. If your GP does nothing go to A&E with a close friend or relative.

see a doctor.
