What are some low-paid health care positions?!

What are some low-paid health care positions?

I know it's an odd question, but I'm a writer and I want one of my characters to get a job at a hospital so she can encounter another character who gets put in there for attempted suicide. The character who needs this job is unskilled labor so it would need to be a very low-level job, even custodian or something along those lines.

Does anyone know about the health care profession and could give me some ideas on what kind of job my character might get so I can set up this scenario realistically?

I do know nurses are underpaid. :o) But I need a job that is unskilled, a job a lady who lives in a trailer park might have. It also needs to be something where she might have contact with a patient.

I'm an emergency room nurse and the best place to have someone encounter a patient who attempted suicide is the emergency rooom. You could have your patient be an ER tech. They don't need to have any certificates or anything like that. Its just on the job training. They help to bandage wounds, do EKGs, sometimes draw labs, things like that. I work in California at a medium sized hospital and our techs make about 17 an hour.
