Why do I have sharp pain in my ear even though I don't have a headache? I clean!

Question:

Why do I have sharp pain in my ear even though I don't have a headache? I cleaned my ear cuz i couldn't hear.

A few days ago, I took a bath and I cleaned my ears. I pushed my ear wax to far so that I couldn't hear in my right ear. I cleaned it with water and solution from CVS Pharmacy and now I have a sharp pain in my right ear. I don't have an ear infection since I don't have a headache. What could it be?

Answers:

headaches are not a common indicator of an ear infection. pain, ear drainage and fever are.

being that you had wax trapped in your ear a few days ago after taking a bath, you might have pushed water into your eardrum and then trapped it there with the wax, causing infection

if you're having pain-make an appt to see your dr to get antibiotics. an untreated infection can lead to ear drum rupture which will cause loss of hearing until the ear heals
