Would I be anoying to ask to an anesthesiologist this?!

Question:

Would I be anoying to ask to an anesthesiologist this?

I want to ask an anesthesiologist if I could tage along with them, for the sake of gaining a practical experience of what it would really be like to be one. I want to watch an actual procedure.

I don't want to be in the way or seem bothersome....

I also want to volunteer in the postoperating room at a hospital...I wonder if being a cna will get me farther with the volunteering?

Has anyone done anything like this??

Answers:

No a lot of jobs, people do this frequently. Its what they call job shadowing.

I myself am going to school for the medical field, Radiation Therapy to be exact. I have sat in on their work so that I could see which area I specifically wanted to work in.

I'd speak to HR first to see if they could set you up with an anesthesiologist. Or if you are going to college or there is a college nearby, you can ask the allied health department. They should be able to give you a list of names and numbers to contact people that are already set up to let you shadow with them.
