After a DVT where clot is behind knee, is it better to wear compression stocking!

Question:

After a DVT where clot is behind knee, is it better to wear compression stockings below knee or above?

GP says usually it is given the below knee type but they are really below and keep falling down to ankle and still after being measured properly. I am not convinced. I was given Dr. Scholl brand.

Answers:

Id use a thigh high, as the clot was behind your knee, and the last thing you want is the compression stocking pressing where the DVT was.
And if the stocking is falling down, then i strongly recommend getting another brand. They need to be relatively tight against your skin, or they arnt doing you any good.
My dad went to the local pharmacy and brought a good pair which lasted him for the 6months he needed to wear it for.
