Why does my arm still hurt after nausea injection?!

Question: Why does my arm still hurt after nausea injection?
On Tuesday my doctor gave me a nausea injection and ever since (now Thursday) my arm is in so much pain....

He didn't check me over, just stabbed me with the needle right at the top of my arm, about an inch from my shoulder and its been agony since, can't touch it, move it or sleep on it and the pain doesnt seem to be easing off with painkillers, its infact spreading up my neck.

Anyone know if this is normal or not? I've had tons of needles before but never experienced this much pain from one.

He also left the used needle etc on my kitchen worktop, my mum is not happy in the slightest.

Answers:

It is not rare I am afraid. It is likely that the muscle or a nerve has been bruised. Doctors do not check people over when injecting into the deltoid muscle, they just do it.

it sounds like an allergic reaction. i,d call the doc, or whoever did the shot, and complain. if you,ve received a killed virus in a shot; which is common inoculation procedure; you might have a mild reaction. this sounds more ominous. you could take a benadryl to alleviate possible allergic symptoms.

No Reaction. Sometimes when giving shots we can tend to hit a muscle and it will cause the area to be sore for about a week.
