2. Do they look at my "privates" (lol)

4. I know I'm overweight, and last time in went the lady lectured on and on about it....do u think she will again? (it's a new doctor)
5. I haven't had shots since kindergarten, what shots can I expect, if any all?

Answers:

1. they will probably take ur height, weight, blood pressure, listen to your heart and lungs, check reflexes, address any "concerns" you or your parent may have and any concerns that may pertain to any reason why you might be having a psychical (like if its sports they will probably ask you a ton of questions from a card)
2. not unless your there for a pelvic exam (which generally you do when your older 21 or 2 years after the first time a woman has sex whichever comes first OR you a have a specific concern such as having more than one period a month on a regular basis, lack of periods, heavy periods etc.) My normal doctor doesn't ask me about mine, but my friend said her old one always asked when was your last and she was kinda surprised when her new one didn't ask. The doctor I go to for female concerns always asks and I can never remember exactly when.
3. usually a parent doesn't have to come back with you, but your mom has to go to the appointment or sign consent for you to see a doctor, but that doesn't mean she has to come in the room with you and certain procedures require additional consent like shots require her signing a form
4. Depends on the doctor, I have some that are real jerks and others who are real kind about telling me I could loose weight, but most do not bring it up, unless I do.
5. Depends on your states laws, possibly tetanus/whooping cough booster, and maybe HPV now-a-days I think they do that starting at 11. And I think your due for hepatitis I think I needed a series of 3 for middle or high school, it varies from state to state. And maybe chickenpox if you haven't had it. Most shots but the whooping cough/tetanus booster are given at 3 different times chicken pox might only be 2.

It all depends on the doctor and the office, but...
1. They will probably to basic stuff, like taking your weight and height, listening to your heart, etc.
2. Maybe. They will probably at least ask some questions about your period, etc. You can ask the doctor or nurse to explain everything before they do it. It's not a gynecologist, though, so it shouldn't be that intense... and please realize that this is all very professional and these people see bodies all the time. It's not as big of a deal as you think!
3. If you have things you'd like to talk about privately with the doctor, you should ask your mom for some privacy (or if she won't leave, tell the doctor you'd like privacy). I don't know what laws, policies, etc. surround this issue, but it's worth a shot.
4. No idea. It will probably come up, at least, but again, it's all for your health. You're older now, though, so there's less the sense of 'help the parents take care and prevent this,' I'd say.
5. Do you need shots? You probably won't get any, but it depends.

Just try to be calm and professional. Take care of your health!
