Can a head injury cause permanent vertigo in the elderly, especially?!

Question:

Can a head injury cause permanent vertigo in the elderly, especially?

Answers:

It is possible that a head injury can cause post traumatic vertigo. But being an elderly person vertigo may have caused them to fall and hurt themselves in the first place.

The doctor needs to be sure what the initial cause of the vertigo was.

As for being permanent I honestly do not know. You will to talk to the treating doctor, to find out if the they can treat or manage the vertigo.
