What's the worse case for not seeing a doctor over a sprained or fractured ankle!
Question:
What's the worse case for not seeing a doctor over a sprained or fractured ankle?
My dilema. Just over a week ago while I was moving out of my apartment I was walking down the stairs with my computer and didn't realize I had one step to go.... I fell and really hurt my ankle.
(1st question I was asked all week while limping around...."How's the computer?")
IF I had insurance or the money I would have gone to the doctor but, since I don't have insurance and this move cost me more than I planned that option was out.
My ankle is still swollen but, not as bad as the first couple days. It's still sore and of course if I bend it the wrong way it really hurts.
How concerned should I be? I'm trying to be real careful and I keep it elevated while I'm at work, not above my heart of course but, my computer is on the floor and I put my leg on that.
Comments or suggestions please.

I just recovered from a fractured ankle. It was not in a cast for the first two weeks and by the time it was diagnosed as fractured it was too late for a cast. The doctor recommended a foot brace called a "moon boot" it is like an air cast. I hired it from a pharmacy/chemist for three weeks and it helped tremendously. Maybe check it out?
