Why do I have a pounding headache when I wake up?!

Question:

Why do I have a pounding headache when I wake up?

Every morning when I wake up I have a pounding headache on both sides. What causes it? Is it a sign of poor sleep?

Answers:

Yeah, I'd say it sounds like dehydration, perhaps caused by one of two things (or both)...

1. You're not drinking enough water throughout the day

or

2. You're drinking too much coffee / tea (not herbal tea - I mean the stuff English people drink in vast quantities which contains caffeine).

Try changing those 2 things and see what happens. Be warned though - if you are a heavy caffeine drinker, don't completely stop drinking it immediately or else the head aches will get much worse before disappearing - it's best to ease yourself off it over a week or so.

Hope this helps
