I am terrified!! Neurological damage?!
Question:
I am terrified!! Neurological damage?
I am a flight attendant and recently got into an accident due to some sever turbulence. I was thrown around and ultimately thrown with considerable force into a door.
Immediately i complained about not being able to move my arm, like it was weak or something .. not sore. Also, i complained that the right side of my face felt funny.
Now, 4 weeks later I started fainting and feeling worse. My doctor did a test and noticed that I cant move the top half of my face...
She's sending me to a neuologist but I'm really scared.... whats gong to happen to me? Will i just heal ? Anyone?!
Answers:
Try not to worry, until you have a diagnosis things are out of your hands.
Just because your face is paralysed, does not necessary mean that you will be permanantly affected. Bells Palsy is an example of a paralysing trauma which has good recovery rates:- http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/bells... Your symptoms sound similar to this, but only a medical professional can make such a judgement.
Good luck. I am sure that whatever the diagnosis turns out to be you will return to a happy and fulfilling life before long.
