Very painful fever blister.......?

I normally get one every few months. I got this fever blister last Monday, so I've had it for about 8 days now and it hurts BAD!!! I normally when I get them it's around "that time of the month" and sure enough, that is true, plus I broke out on my face.

My question is, is there anything I can eat, drink, or put on the blisters to relieve the pain and help them go away, plus is there anything at all to help prevent the break outs on my face and what can I put on them now to make them go away quicker?

I don't sleep around, so I don't get the fever blisters from that, I am married, and when I get these blisters I don't kiss my husband or anything, so please use common curtousy when you answer my question. I have used Zilactin a bit this time, but it just makes it dry and burn, and I put carmex on it and it moistens it, but I don't know if it is healing.

I actually got my first one while hospitalized with my pregnancy, dr suspects I got it from something there since I had never had one in my entire life anyways mine come and go SO bad that I am on valtrax daily and have a prescripton cream that I put on them when they come up. I asked the dr about the valtrax since it treats genital herpes and he said it treats all herpes viruses and what I had was herpes simplex. So maybe try getting the prescriptions it helps them not come and if it does it will help it not stay as long. I did only take it when I felt the blister coming on at first then it turned into all the time. Good Luck
