I just had surgery on my elbow on the 4th. my incision is about 8or 9inches long. they said to keep it dry.?

but when i take a shower it always get a bit wet. well yesterday i took a shower and i washed around it with soap and it got pretty wet but i patted it dry afterwards. but now it feels like the stickes are to tight or something. if i go to slightly bend my arm now they feel like they are pulling and it burns a bit. i also have about 2 inches of the end of the stickes hanging down and they are kinda stiff like fishing wire and it keeps poking me can i cut that part off so it won't poke me any more. should i not let them get wet at all or is this pulling and burning feeling normal.

Please go see your surgeon as soon as you can. The incision is not supposed to get wet as it can get infected. You should ask your surgeon for a cast cover to keep the area from getting wet when you shower. You shouldn't cut anything off until you consult your surgeon. Hope this helps!
