What will happen if a baby fell and hit their head on the floor?

I want to know since a couple days after this happen to me I had high fever and had to go to the hospital. However the doctor didn't know what was wrong.

This happen to me when I was a baby I am not sure about what type of floor it was. My dad was holding me and was reaching for the remote while he was standing up and I drop and hit the ground hard supposelly and had a bruise on my head.

kids are pretty tough (especially little ones that are just learning how to walk-there will be more than one spill or head bump in the learning process!!).

it depends on the nature of the fall (how far from the ground, how hard the impact,etc). if the child is already walking and seems to be fine after the incident (walking,talking,acting normally) then just close monitoring at home is advised.

if the child is a small infant (under 13 months) then a trip to the nearest urgent care or er would be best just to make sure there was no skull fracture or head injury sustained (concussion,etc).

the dr will do a neuro check (check the baby's pupils for reaction, and possible a ct scan of the brain to rule out injury) and some xrays to make sure there is no fracture.

fevers usually are not associated with falls unless brain damage has occurred. a fever is usually a sign of an infection or virus.
