just had carpal tunnel release and removal of mass from palm area 4 days ago. i am noticing numbness coming and going on fingertips and thumb tip. also pain is coming and going more often. does pain increase as healing happens? does numbness stay?
Answers:
What you are experiencing is normal. You will feel tingling and sometimes numbness that will go away. Pain is normal but being in a cast for 10 days not only immobilizes it but that in itself decreases the pain. You need to exercise that hand and PT or your hand surgeon will tell you what exercises are best.
It took me about 6 months to get most of the feeling back, but now 20 years later, it is a distant memory. Good Speed.
