Toenail problem?
About 5 years ago, could be longer now, I had a bad ingrown toenail. Most of the time when you get an ingrown toe nail it's only down one side of your toe but I had it down both sides of the big toe on my left foot. Because of this basically almost the whole nail had to be removed.. I only had a small trip of nail down the middle.
Anyway since the operation my toe nail has never healed properly at all. It's a horrid/black brown colour, has grown funny (curls over a little at the end) and is really tough (can't be cut). For a while I was convinced it didn't grow anymore but it does, only very very slow.
Anyway I've finally decided to get something done about it so I'm going to book an appointment with a foot doctor in hope of getting it removed and I was just wondering whether I'll be able to grow a healthy toe-nail afterwards and if not, does not having a toe-nail look okay or does it look strange?
Answers:
I had a friend that did not have a toe nail on the right big toe due to something similar that you described. Didn't bother me. Looks a lot better than the toe being black and brown and ugly.
