Ive been having insomnia so long that its taking over my life?!

Question:

Ive been having insomnia so long that its taking over my life?

I was fine until Yesterday when I decided to start working out again..I workout in the evenings.I start my work out by 4-30 and end by 5-45.I soon take a supplement afterwords..come home have my dinner and take another supplement before i got to bed..pls tell me whether the supplement is the reason i find it hard to sleep? or the fact that I work out at that time?

Answers:

You need to ask your pharmacist if the supplement has anything in it that will keep you awake. If not the pharmacist, the Health Food Store. The time of your workout should not be keeping you awake, unless you go to bed real early, like 7:00 or 8:00. Have you been taking naps during the day? Are you drinking coffee, or eating foods with a lot of sugar in it anytime before you go to bed? I have insomnia too often myself, I have been up for the past 4 days and have not taken a nap during the day. I am starting to feel punchy and my eyes are having a hard time focusing. I know of a couple of things you can try to get to sleep, and they work pretty good. You can either try Benedryl, or try the generic for Excedrin PM. My doctor gave me Benedryl to get me to sleep when I was in the hospital for surgery, and I couldn't take sleeping pills. I hadn't slept in 5 days when I was in the hospital. I tried the Excedrin PM one other time, and they worked as well. I try not to take anything to go to sleep since if I do it can make the insomnia worse. If I get over it on my own it doesn't come back as quickly.
