How do I tell if my foot is broken?
I work at a school and a child threw a block off a table and it landed on my foot. The corner caught me right on top of my foot. It took only seconds to swell and after three days it's still sore to touch. It doesn't hurt to walk, but it hurts when it's touched. I broke my foot in high school and didn't know I had for weeks, I just thought it was bruised.I'm thinking it's just a bruise, but the hard knot and the fact it still hurts to wear shoes has me worried.

A x-ray is the best way to tell if the foot is broken. I've seen a run of these in my office lately and the majority of them are not broken, but I still take a x-ray to make sure. More likely, it's a deep bruise that's gonna take about 3-4 weeks to heal up. Ice and Advil/Aleve as needed for the pain. Hope this helps!
