Toe Numbness?!

Question:

Toe Numbness?

For serious people only! I had a party on saturday night. The next morning one of my toes on my right foot is numb and has been ever since. It is not asleep because it is numb - not pins and needles. I am very worried and it is very annoying! I drank a lot and wore high heeled shoes most of the night if that helps. Please help!

It has spread to my next toe. I am really worried. And no my back doesn't hurt so I obviously didn't throw it out.

Answers:

If you like to wear a lot of heels, then you may have a common condition found in women called a neuroma. This is an inflammed nerve that affects the 3rd and 4th toe and can cause numbness and at other times pain, tingling, and stinging. Please go to your nearest podiatrist for an evaluation. In the meantime, limit your high heel use as that is over squeezing and irritating your nerves which is causing your numbness. Nerves are very sensitive and take a long time to heal. Hope this helps!
