Could sleeping on my arm wrong cause nerve damage?!

Question: Could sleeping on my arm wrong cause nerve damage?
Many nights I will wake up and notice my hands are completely numb and sometimes my whole arm. This happens frequently and takes a few moments to regain feeling. I haven't noticed any difference in the way my hands feel in the morning. I'm just wondering if constant cut in circulation could damage the nerve endings in my fingers or arm?

Answers:

it is probably because, as you said, you are cutting off your circulation by sleeping on it. you would have to cut off the circulation for a considerable period of time to cause permanent damage. sleeping on it long enough causes you to have enough discomfort that you change position.

i guess to a certain extent it coulld damage the nerve,i do this too but try sleeping with that arm hanging off the bed,or change positions.

No need to worry, that happens to everyone. It has happened to me countless times and I have no permanent injuries.

By the time your old and die you wont notice anyway.
