Cartilage Piercing has a white bump and is sensitive to the touch.?!

Question:

Cartilage Piercing has a white bump and is sensitive to the touch.?

Sometime around the beginning of April I pierced the cartilage of my ear myself. I cleaned it twice a day forever pretty much and everything was fine. After about five weeks I got impatient and decided to change the earring, which happened to be an 18 gauge instead of the original 20 gauge. When I was putting it in i ripped through a new hole on the back side skin, but then i put it in the original hole. My ear hurt really bad for a little while, like a week or so maybe, and from then on it just hurts to touch the back of it. There is a white bump, which seems like is what is hurting. sometimes if i squeeze it a tiny bit of liquid comes out, but its not a thick puss or anything. I still clean it twice a day. Will this bump ever go away and will my ear stop hurting when i touch it?

Answers:

Its called cauliflower ear. Its very common among wrestlers. It happens when cartilage is ripped or broken or whatever you want to call it, then it grows scar tissue and fills with fluid.

I was a wrestler and have had it a few times. Twice I had to have a doctor drain it. Im assuming yours is relatively small so for the most part it should heal up. But you will probably have a bit of a bump for a long time. If you dont leave it alone it wont heal. So stop squeezing it.
